Back in December (last month, last year, last decade), I asked a few business associates and friends (most of them fit into both categories) to enter a competition. The competition was to get people to sign up to my weekly top tips email which gives free business tips on how to increase sales, get more leads, cut costs and genereally make more profit. I am pleased to announce that the winner was
Sally Smith of
Body & Sole Clinic. Sally is a client of mine and now has a thriving massage and chiropody clinic in Harby, Notts, near the Lincolnshire border. I'll be presenting the case of
Jean Dumangin champagne to her as soon as she's available. She's a busy girl now and I'd like to think that's down to the way she's embraced my business methods, although I have more in store for her this year to take her business to the next level again. Well done Sally! I hope you like the 3 bottles of Premier Cru Carte d'Or and 3 bottles of the Premier Cru Rose.
From a business point of view, I have to think about whether this kind of promotion is worth it financially with a return on investment. I would have to say wholeheartedly that it was a complete success. Already one of Sally's referrals has come on board as a client and I look forward to helping that business grow in 2010. So, competitions; a good way to raise awareness and build a customer list or prospect list. And if you end up giving somebody lovely a few bottles of champers, it can't be bad.
And to think I had a dance with her last night and forgot to tell her about the champagne. Doh!
